"In November 1996, the transformer on our office boiler, an H.B. Smith 20 Series, went bad. Since the Carlin 41000 ignitors were becoming more popular and available at that time, I decided to try one for our office burner.

From November 1996 to May 2004, we used approximately 19,229 gallons. During that seven and a half year time frame, there was never an ignition related problem with the burner. With a 2.00 gph firing rate, that equeals 9,615 running hours with "constant" ignition.

For a typical residential burner on "constant" ignition, the Carlin 41000 ignitor would easily last over 11 years. On interrupted ignition, maybe it would even outlast the life expectancy of the boiler itself. Now that's reliability!
