Technology in today’s boiler design has caused a change in system set-up. An ever-increasing number of high efficiency boilers are currently designed to run with positive pressure, both in the fire box area, as well as the breech. In pressure fired applications, one of two air tube flange configurations must be used. The preferred method is to use a welded air tube flange. This will have the insertion depth pre-set and the bolt pattern of the flange will be designed especially for a specific boiler.
If the welded air tube flange is not available a universal pressurized flange is the second option. This pressurized flange has holes designed to match a multitude of applications. It is important to note that you must seal around this flange where it attaches to the air tube using high temperature silicone. With the universal pressurized flange you must set the insertion depth. The end of the air tube should be flush to a maximum of ¼ back from the chamber. (Never insert air tube into the chamber.)
